THE Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC), together with the local government of Pandi, Bulacan, created “Task Force LAG” to investigate alleged anomalies regarding the financial assistance they have received from the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Livelihood Assistance Grant (DSWD-LAG) program.

PACC commissioner Greco Belgica said the task force was created to address the complaints of the Livelihood Assistance Grant (LAG) beneficiaries.

The beneficiaries mentioned that a forced deduction of up to P10,000 have been made on the P15,000 grants the beneficiaries were supposed to receive, perpetrated allegedly by barangay and cooperative officials of Pandi.

These are factual complaints that they have received, Belgica noted.

As this developed, Pandi Mayor Rico Roque on Friday said that he urgently requested through his letter to Belgica to expedite the conduct of investigation by the PACC.

Aside from the PACC investigation team, the municipality also created a local task force to investigate the said anomalies perpetrated by a certain Magic 7 Cooperative.

Kaisa ako ng PACC sa imbestigasyon sa anomalya na sinasabi ng complainant. We are more than willing to immediately conduct an independent investigation or joint investigation with the PACC’s task force to finally shed light on the issue,” Roque said.

The Pandi LGU, according to Roque, welcomes any investigation to be conducted by the PACC, and he assured that all the persons involved will definitely cooperate in the same investigation.

Belgica said that they have scrutinized the LAG program and found no provisions that permit barangay and cooperative officials to deduct any amount on the grants that the beneficiaries should receive.

The concerned officials will be subpoenaed and if found guilty, they will have to face the full force of the law, Belgica added.
