A suspected lady drug peddler was arrested by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region III (PDEA-3) and confiscated from her an estimated P3.4 million worth of crystal meth or shabu in a drug operation at Public Market Harmony Hills in Barangay Loma De Gato, Marilao town on Tuesday evening.
PDEA-3 Regional Director Christian Frivaldo identified the suspect as Mary Grace Sison, 37 years old, single, and a resident of Bagong Silang in Caloocan City.
Frivaldo said based on initial investigation, PDEA agents were able to secure a drug deal for the purchase of 500 grams of shabu from the suspect and agreed to meet in a public market in Marilao where she was collared by PDEA agents.
The arrest of Sison yielded one black sling bag containing one resealable plastic bag containing more or less 500 grams of a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, with a street value worth P3.4 million, marked money, and one cellular phone.
Charges of violation of section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against Sison.
