The Department of Health (DOH), based on its latest bulletin released today, recorded an additional 6,895 new COVID-19 cases, the lowest so far since April 18, 2021, the last time when new COVID-19 cases went over the 10,000-mark.
With the additional cases today, this brings total COVID-19 cases in the country to 1,020,495.
However, the low daily case count was attributed to the low testing output of laboratories last Monday.
The DOH COVID-19 Case Bulletin # 410, posted at 4 pm today, April 28, 2021, also recorded 10,739 recoveries and 115 deaths.
In the overall count of COVID-19 cases in the country, 6.6 percent or 67,769 are active cases, another low number, 91.7 percent or 935,695 have recovered while 1.67 percent, 17,031, have died.
Around 18 duplicates were removed from the total case count, of which 12 are recoveries.
Also, 59 cases previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
One laboratory did not operate last April 26, 2021 while five laboratories were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).
