PILAR, Bataan — The Provincial Government of Bataan has allotted P15 million for the “new normal” renovation of Pilar Municipal Hall of this historic town.
Pilar Municipal Mayor Charlie Pizarro said even before the pandemic happens, they already have schedules to renovate the town hall due to leaks from its roof especially during rainy season.
Bataan Governor Abet Garcia, Pizarro added, gave them a P15 million grant to renovate it and have it finished even before the onset of the rainy season but the Covid-19 struck the world and the target completion date was moved to December this year.
Mayor Pizarro further said the other important aspect of their renovation under the new normal scheme, is the construction of the spacious one-stop-shop where his constituents transacting their business at the municipal hall need not go from one office to another but only in one designated place.
Pilar is the site of the historic Mount Samat Shrine, a World War 2 memorial site where a giant memorial cross can be found and is the most remarkable symbol of the Province of Bataan.
