Over 40k doses of COVID-19 vaccines given to seniors, HCWs and immunocompromised in Manila

THE Manila Health Department of the city government of Manila said it had already given over 40,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines for the second boosters shots as of Monday. 

The COVID-19 second booster shots were offered to healthcare workers, senior citizens, and immunocompromised individuals already at the required age.

Last Monday afternoon, the number of second booster shots given has reached a total of 42,181 while 637,817 doses were given as first booster dose, which is allowed for those whose age is not lower than 12 years old and five months after they have completed their primary series.

In total, the Manila Health Department already administered 3,482,339 jabs of the vaccine. Out of this number, 1,722,046 are already fully vaccinated.

The Department of Health (DOH) again encouraged the public to avail of the primary series of vaccines and avail of the booster dose for added protection against the virus, prevent further transmission and surge in the number of COVID-19 cases.
