MORE than 100 party-list groups whose applications for registration were denied by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) filed their motions for reconsideration with the poll body.

This was according to Comelec commissioner Rowena Guanzon, who earlier confirmed that 126 applications for party-list registration were denied or disapproved by the poll body.

However, the Comelec has yet to reveal the actual grounds or basis for the denial of the application of these more than 100 party-list groups.

Guanzon said the Comelec is eyeing to act on the appeals and finalize the list of approved party-list group registrations by December 6 so the poll body can push with its plan to start ballot printing by December 15.
