LAGUNA – THE Provincial Hi-way Patrol Group (PHPG) has conducted a comprehensive ‘One-Time Big-Time ‘operation to apprehend stores or shops illegally buying and selling parts of second-hand vehicles in Calamba City.
This is the group’s step of intensifying the Presidential Decree 1612 or “Visitorial Inspection” led by Police Lt. Emerson Costudio and Police Cpt. Charie Reyes of Provincial Highway Patrol Team-Laguna along with Regional Highway Patrol Unit 4-A or RHPU and Crime Laboratory to arrest those with illegal “buy and sell” shops where a carnap vehicle can be sold or even the so-called “chop-chop” spare parts.
Private vehicles passing along the National Hi-way in Calamba City were subjected to scrutiny and even ask drivers for a vehicle registration or the ‘Original Registration and Certification of Registration (ORCR).
Just recently, an active policeman was caught driving a carnap USV in Quezon City causing the PNP-Hi-way Patrol Group to strictly enforced a large-scale operation on the so-called “hot cars”.
Second-hand shops and spare parts stores in the area were found negative for the illegal activities as the documents they formally presented to police were legit.
