The number of new COVID-19 cases dropped slightly today based on the latest bulletin released by the Department of Health (DOH).
Only 9,628 new COVID-19 cases were recorded today compared to numbers in the past few days.
Overall, there are now 945,745 COVID-19 positive cases in the country.
Meanwhile, the number of recoveries today went up almost the same as the number of new cases with a 9,266 total.
This means there are now 788,322 individuals who have recovered from the deadly COVID-19 disease.
There were also 88 people who died today of COVID-19 to bring the total to 16,048 deaths, while the number of active cases remained high with a 141,375 total.
Of all the active cases, 96.9 percent are mild cases while 1.5 percent are asymptomatic.
The DOH continues to remind the public to ensure their safety from the perils of COVID-19 and to strictly follow existing public health standards to protect themselves from contracting the disease and to help lower the number of COVID-19 cases.
Also, while Typhoon Bising continues to affect some regions, the DOH reminded their regional offices to monitor the evacuation centers in their respective areas to prevent the transmission of the virus and to immediately send to an isolation facility anyone who will turn out positive for COVID-19.
