No threats seen on the holding of special elections in Lanao del Sur — PNP

THE Philippine National Police (PNP) does not see any threat to the Special Elections that will be held in 12 barangays in Tubaran, Lanao del Sur on May 24.

PNP Spokesperson PCol.. Jean Fajardo said they do not expect problems cropping up in the holding of the special elections since 800 PNP and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) personnel will be there to secure the area.

More or less 8,000 voters are expected to vote during the special elections in the area.

Fajardo said the PNP is also awaiting for advise from the Comelec regarding the date of the special elections that will be held in one barangay each in the municipalities of Binidayan and Butig in Lanao del Sur.

PNP Director for Operations PMGen. Valeriano de Leon earlier said that the police will serve as Special Board of Election Inspectors in the areas where special elections will be held.
