THE Philippine National Police (PNP) said they have not monitored any threat on the first State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. on July 25.
PNP Director for Operations MGen. Valeriano de Leon said that as of late, they have not received any information about any attempt to disturb or create any trouble during the SONA.
However, the PNP said it is preparing against all possibilities and have already laid out a contingency plan.
It was learned that close to 15,000 PNP and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) personnel and other force multipliers will be deployed for the SONA.
Meanwhile, De Leon said that to ensure orderliness on that day, the PNP will sit down with militant groups for security preparations and to remind them not to create trouble during the SONA.
