THE Department of Health (DOH) said the COVID-19 weekly positivity rate for the country was pegged at 10.6 percent, while COVID-19 weekly positivity rate for the National Capital Region (NCR) rose to 13 percent.
In the latest DOH COVID-19 National Situationer from July 8 up to July 14, the NCR leads the Top 5 regions with the highest recorded cases of COVID-19 at 5,234 new cases.
Region 4A followed with 2,710 cases; while Region 3 tallied 1,161, Region 6 with 1,106, and Region 7 with 522 new COVID-19 cases for the period mentioned.
Positivity rate is the percentage of people that tested positive for COVID-19 from the overall number of people tested for the disease.
According to the DOH, the national case trend is going upward, and now is at an average of 1,700 new cases per day.
However, even though there is an increasing trend in the number of new cases in the country and in the regions, it is still considered under low-risk case classification, with a low-risk average daily attack rate (ADAR).
Also, the DOH added that the health care utilization rate still remains at low risk in all regions, while the national severe and critical admissions is not lower than 1 percent of the overall number of those admitted.
