THE Department of Health (DOH) logged 1,926 new COVID-19 infections today, slightly lower than yesterday’s 1,997, according to the DOH COVID-19 Case Bulletin issued today, November 14, 2021.
This brings the total number of COVID-19 infections in the country to 2,816,980 cases.
Active cases, on the other hand, went down slightly to 28,102 cases today after registering a 29,382 count yesterday. Active cases or patients are those undergoing treatment in government hospitals and temporary quarantine facilities.
Recoveries from COVID-19 today, meanwhile, went up to 3,140, almost double from yesterday’s 1,696 count. Overall, COVID-19 recoveries in the country have reached a total of 2,743,297 cases.
The DOH also logged 309 COVID-19 fatalities today compared to yesterday’s 238 deaths to bring the total COVID-19 deaths to 45,272.
Positivity rate today, meanwhile, went down to 4.5 percent compared to yesterday’s 5.5 percent based on 40,996 people who were tested.
Around 68.1 percent of the cases were mild and asymptomatic, the DOH bulletin noted.
A total of 26 duplicates were removed from the total case count, of which 24 were recoveries.
There were also 245 cases tagged earlier as recoveries but were reclassified as deaths upon final validation.
All laboratories were operational on November 12, 2021 while two laboratories were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS). Based on data in the last 14 days, the two non-reporting laboratories contribute, on average, 0.6 percent of samples tested and 0.3 percent of positive individuals.
The agency continues to remind the public to ensure their safety and to strictly observe safety protocols and to have themselves vaccinated as soon as possible. It also reiterates that the safety of the country is everyone’s responsibility, and that by helping each other, the country will overcome this COVID-19 pandemic.
