New COVID-19 cases slightly lower today at more than seven thousand

The Department of Health (DOH) posted only 7,379 new COVID-19 cases today, according to its latest COVID-19 Case Bulletin # 402 issued today, April 20, 2021.

The additional cases further pushed the number of COVID-19 cases in the country to a 953,106 total.

Even recoveries posted higher numbers today with 21,664 to bring to 809,959 the number of total recoveries so far.

The number of deaths, meanwhile, rose to 16,141 with 93 deaths added to the total.

The number of active COVID-19 cases was recorded at 127,006 today, and seems that the number of active cases or COVID-19 patients that are still being treated in hospitals and other COVID-19 facilities in the country are slightly declining.

According to the DOH, the low number of cases recorded today is because 19 accredited laboratories were unable to conduct testing operations last Sunday, April 18, 2021.
