OPERATIVES from the Northern Police District (NPD) collared the No. 1 Most Wanted Person of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) in a manhunt conducted in Valenzuela City.
District Special Operation Unit (DSOU-NPD) chief P/Lt. Col. Jay Dimaandal identified the accused as Jomar Gatchalian, 33 years old, of Brgy. Gen. T. De Leon, Valenzuela City.
In a combined investigation by PMSgt. Julius Mabasa and PSSgt. Paul Colasito, the DSOU received information from the NDIT-RIU NCR that the accused was spotted in Marulas, Valenzuela City that is why P/Lt. Col. Dimaandal immediately dispatched a team to verify the report.
Once the report was confirmed, the DSOU under P/Capt. Melito Pabon and PCpl. Alan Reyes, together with operatives from the NDIT-RIU NCR, 4th MFC, RMFB, CIDG-NPD and DID-NPD, conducted the manhunt operation that resulted in the arrest of the accused at around 7:30 a.m.
Pabon said Gatchalian was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued on October 30, 2003 by Hon. Judge Maria Nena Santos of Branch 171, Regional Trial Court (RTC) Valenzuela City for the case of Murder, with no bail recommended for the accused’s temporary liberty.
The successful arrest of the accused was made under the guidance of NPD Director PBGen. Jose Santiago Hidalgo Jr. to weed out violators of the law, including the intensified manhunt for most wanted persons under the jurisdiction of theNPD.
