INDEPENDENT research group OCTA Research placed the National Capital Region (NCR) at “moderate risk” level for COVID-19.
The group revealed in its recent update that the region’s reproduction number has gone up to a “critical” level at 1.47, higher than the previous 0.51.
This means the region was at “moderate risk” from December 23 to 29, from “very low risk” during the December 16-22 period.
The group added that the 572 new COVID cases in NCR, as reported by the Department of Health was about 229 percent higher than the previous day’s number.
OCTA also said the NCR’s seven-day average in new daily cases increased to 215 during the December 23-29 period from 79 as of December 16-22.
However, it said the region’s average daily attack rate (ADAR) is still regarded as low to 1.52 from 0.56, while the seven-day positivity rate that also rose by 3.86 percent is also considered low, from 0.69 percent the previous week.
Same goes with hospital utilization rate, which is still at a very low level despite a slight increase to 19 percent from the previous 18 percent.
