ITINUTURING ng mga eksperto na “areas of concern” ang National Capital Region (NCR) at pitong iba pang lugar dahil sa pagtaas ng mga kaso ng coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Tinukoy ng OCTA Research Group na maliban sa NCR, nakababahala rin ang pagtaas ng mga kaso sa Davao del Sur, Quezon, Negros Occidental, Pampanga, Bulacan, Misamis Oriental at Western Samar.
Batay pa sa huling monitoring report ng grupo, nasa kategoryang high risk ang Makati, Lucena, Batangas, Davao at Pagadian dahil sa pagdami ng mga naitatalang kaso araw-araw, positivity rate, attack rate, at high hospital occupancy simula nuong Nobyembre 22 hanggang 28.
“In the high-risk LGUs identified in the NCR and other LGUs around the country, we urge the LGUs concerned to further intensify their efforts at testing, tracing, and isolation to reverse the increase in transmissions in their communities,” ayon sa OCTA Research.
Kasabay nito ang apela ng mga eksperto na agad nang magpatupad ng agresibo at epektibong localized lockdowns at mahigpit na border control upang maiwasan ang pagkalat ng virus.
Inirekomenda na rin ng OCTA Research sa gobyerno na panatilihin ang NCR sa general community quarantine hanggang sa matapos ang taon matapos na maitala ang pagtaas ng reproduction number o pagkahawa sa taong may COVID-19 mula sa 0.83 ay naging 0.87.
“The rise in the reproduction number in the NCR, while a cause of concern is not surprising. However, the situation in the NCR is still manageable and should not be a cause for alarm,” dagdag ng grupo.
COVID-19 cases papalo sa 500,000
Tinataya ng OCTA Research na umabot ng 470,000 hanggang 500,000 ang maitatalang kaso ng COVID-19 sa Disyembre 31.
“Based on the available data, it is becoming clear to us that the increases in new cases in many places around the country are largely community transmission exacerbated by the rise in mobility due to the opening up of the economy coupled with the deteriorating compliance with the minimum health standard by citizens due to pandemic fatigue,” ayon pa sa mga eksperto.
