NCR areas under granular lockdown now at 105

THE Philippine National Police (PNP) said that areas under granular lockdown in the National Capital Region (NCR) is now at 105 as of yesterday, October 20, 2021.

Data from the PNP revealed that the number of areas increased from 98, and are located in 58 barangays, and are composed of 57 houses, 28 residential buildings, 12 subdivisions or villages, and six residential building floors.

The PNP Public Information Office said that local government units (LGUs) can impose or lift lockdowns. The PNP said it had already deployed 322 policemen and 251 force multipliers in the mentioned areas to oversee security and compliance to minimum public health standards.

Granular lockdown is a micro-level quarantine classification imposed on areas tagged as “critical zones” by a local government unit (LGU), and is usually imposed on areas with a high number of COVID-19 cases or infections.
