Murder fugitive in Taguig City, caught in Isabela

FOR three years of hiding from the law, a fugitive in Taguig City was finally captured by operatives of the Regional Intelligence Division (RID) of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and Southern Police District (SPD) in the province of Isabela.

Reports reaching the office of Police Major General Debold Sinas, Director of the NCRPO, suspect Alfredo Monterde Dela Cerna Jr., alyas “Junjun/Long Hair” was eventually tracked down by authorities at his hideout in Old Palengke Calamagui 1st, Ilagan City on October 23rd, after a month of surveillance.

“May this serve as a warning to criminals that Team NCRPO will find you wherever you may hide,” said Sinas.

The District Intelligence Division-Southern Police District (DID-SPD) initially received information about the whereabouts of Dela Cerna who then works at a bird sanctuary owned by his relatives.

With the coordination of Police Regional Office 2 (PRO-2), Isabela Provincial Police Office (IPPO) and Ilagan City Police Station, the RID successfully executes the warrant of arrest to Dela Cerna who was in the bird sanctuary and eventually abide with the arresting officers.

Dela Cerna has a pending warrant of arrest issued by Judge Paz Esperanza Cortes of Taguig City’s Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 271 without bail for his murder case.  

Dela cerna went into hiding in 2017 after being involved in a shooting incident in Taguig City, and being a well-known illegal drug pusher in the city who is under the drug watch list.
