Baliuag, Bulacan — Operatives of the Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) arrested a multi-million investment scammer in Barangay Pagala of this town.
Bulacan Police Provincial Office director Police Colonel Lawrence Cajipe identified the suspect as Ma. Lea Ulang, 29, single, businesswoman and a resident of Barangay Layunan Binangonan, Rizal.
Ulang was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Hon. Mario B Capelan of Malolos City Regional Trial Court Branch 1 for the crime of estafa.
One of the suspect’s alleged victim, Rosemarie Guerrero told the authorities that Ulang persuaded her put up their money in an investment which turned out to be fraudulent.
The police said the suspect allegedly took around thirteen million pesos (P13,000,000.00) from her several victims.
The arrested suspect is temporarily placed under custody for proper disposition while additional criminal complaints will be filed against her in court.
