THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) said around 372,878 out of the 64,442,616 election ballots already printed for the upcoming elections were found to be defective.
This was confirmed by Comelec Commissioner George Garcia in an interview with reporters this morning.
He said the number of defective ballots represent 0.58 percent of the total number of ballots.
These ballots are “subject for reprinting,” Garcia added.
The poll body official said that they will just finish reprinting these ballots and the printing of all other forms, and will then proceed with the destruction of the defective ballots.
The Comelec will issue a notice when the destruction of the defective ballots will take place.
In an earlier announcement, the Comelec said it will show in full view of the public the defective ballots and will burn all of them.
