OVER 26,000 ballots from Local Absentee voting (LAV) have already been transmitted to the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
Based on the list provided by Comelec Commissioner George Garcia, the partial report on the number of LAV accomplished ballots received by the Reception and Custody Unit (RCU) revealed that almost 26,396 ballots have already been submitted as of May 3, 2022.
The most number of LAV ballots came from the Philippine National Police (PNP) with 14,281 ballots, followed by the Philippine Army that has 6,934 ballots, and 2,259 ballots from the Philippine Air Force.
A total of 809 ballots came from the media, bilang ng mga balota ay nasa 809, while 628 came from the ranks of the Comelec.
For the Department of Education (DepEd), around 807 accomplished ballots were already transmitted.
The poll body said polling places have until May 9, 2022 to transmit the LAV ballots.
It can be recalled that LAV started last April 27 up to April 29, 2022.
The early voting was allowed for voters working in government who will serve during the May 9 polls.
The Comelec said before that more than 84,000 were approved to take part in the LAV exercise.
