MORE or less 600 recruits underwent training at the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Regional Training Center Zamboanga located at San Ramon, Zamboanga City.
The recruits’ training will last for six months wherein they will be trained on military drills, basic soldiering, and customs and traditions of the PCG.
They will also be trained on the mandates of the service, particularly on maritime law enforcement, maritime security, maritime safety, search and rescue, and marine environmental protection.
Among those who took part in the convening ceremony of the Coast Guard Non-Officers’ Course (CGNOC) Class 85 – 2021 were CG Commodore Roben De Guzman, Deputy Commander of the Coast Guard Education, Training, and Doctrine Command (CGETDC) and CG Commodore Luisito Sibayan, Commander of the Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao (CGDSWM).
Before entering CGNOC Class 85 – 2021, the recruits underwent extensive medical evaluation and health assessment to make sure that they are “physically fit” and they are ready to face the challenges they will face while they are in the training center.
