THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) will deploy more personnel to assist travelers as they flock to the country’s major transport hubs such as airports
At the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said more than 40 additional immigration officers and acting immigration officers will be deployed to provide service to passengers, especially foreign visitors.
Viado ordered immigration personnel from its different offices in Metro Manila to help in airport operations during this long vacation period.
The BI chief likewise reminded passengers to arrive early at the airport due to the expected surge in passenger volume.
“We urge the public to be at the airport at least three hours before their scheduled flight to allow ample time for immigration and security checks,” Viado stressed.
A total of over 50,000 passengers are expected to flock to the airports daily during the holiday season.
