SEVERAL parts of the Philippines will continue to experience rain due to the northeast monsoon, easterlies, and the shear line, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported on Wednesday.
According to PAGASA, rains are expected to persist in Batanes, while the Babuyan Islands will see scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms. The agency cautioned that moderate to heavy rainfall in these areas could lead to flash floods or landslides.
The rest of the country may experience isolated rain showers brought about by the easterlies and localized thunderstorms. PAGASA warned that severe thunderstorms in some areas might also trigger flash floods or landslides.
In addition to the rainfall, strong winds and rough seas are forecast over extreme Northern Luzon, while moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will affect the rest of Northern Luzon.
Elsewhere in the country, winds will remain light to moderate, accompanied by slight to moderate sea conditions, PAGASA added.
Residents in affected areas are advised to stay vigilant and monitor weather updates for further advisories.
