MMDA gears up for possible destruction of “Rolly” in Metro

THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has been alerted for the possible destruction of typhoon “Rolly” in National Capital Region (NCR) which already under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal (TCWS) no. 4.

All units are on standby for immediate deployment in areas that needs assistance such as road clearing, quick response and rescue, traffic management and emergency matters.

Metropolitan Public Safety Office personnel are also in preposition to monitor the movement of the typhoon where emergency equipment’s such as rubber boats, ambulances and other rescue vehicles are on standby.

Metro Manila Crises Monitoring and Management Center (MMC-MMC) personnel were also monitoring areas in the Metro for floods.

The MMC-MMC also coordinated with 17 local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Offices.

It was learned that all 56 pumping stations throughout Metro Manila are also operational and Flood Control and Sewerage Management Office personnel are also ready to deploy in flood prone areas.

Meanwhile, the local government of Taguig city is currently setting up evacuation centers in various barangays.

All evacuation centers underwent disinfection as a precaution against the dangers posed by Coronavirus disease 2019.

The city’s rescue personnel already cut down trees on the side roads due to the danger of falling on passing motorists even on pedestrians.

Taguig City ensures that residents will have a safe and secure place to stay in case they have to evacuate due to the expected severe impact of typhoon Rolly.

The Taguig LGU is constantly reminding all residents not to leave their homes.

Combined- Captain Eddie T. Reyes Integrated School;
