A security officer was put behind bars after trying to kill his own nephew in Valenzuela City.
According to Valenzuela City Police Office (VCPO) Chief Col. Fernando Ortega, the suspect 39 years old Arturo Abella, was still intoxicated when apprehended by responding policemen at his house in Phase 1, Blk 4, Lot 9, Assumption Ville, Barangay Lingunan.
Investigation said that prior to the incident, the suspect and victim Eusalan Jowela Abella, 18, allegedly had a heated argument until the latter was suddenly kicked and punched in the face and neck.
The victim tried to fight back, but the suspect took a kitchen knife and stabbed his nephew in the arm and knee.
Although wounded, the victim was able to run outside and chance a policeman who was passing by while heading home from his duty and asked his assistance.
But even the police were surprised when the suspect also tried to stab him.
With the help of responding bantay bayan personnel, Abella was immediately arrested and brought to the Valenzuela police station, facing two counts of attempted murder charges.
