Calamba City Mayor Justin Marc Chipeco ordered the immediate forced evacuation of all residents residing in critical areas in the city since early morning on Sunday to prevent casualties due to typhoon “Rolly”.
The Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council LDRRMO and Public Order and Safety Office POSO assisted by Mr. Jeffrey Rodriguez led the evacuation of hundreds of residents in Barangays Palingon, San Cristobal, Sampiruhan, Parian, Bagong Kalsada, Mapagong, Lecheria, Uwisan, Bucal, Bañadero, Looc, Mapagong, Sucol, SanJuan, Halang, Masili, Real, Bubuyan and Sucol.
As of this press time, a total of 1,069 families or 4,246 individuals have been evacuated.
The local government has even monitoring Laguna de Bay for the possible overflow of waters to nearby towns.
Fishermen have also been banned from fishing due to the imminent danger posed by the said typhoon.
