THE Office of the Press Secretary announced the selection of Raphael Lotilla, as new Department of Energy (DOE) chief.
In a statement Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles said President Ferdinand Marcos designated Lotilla, who was also the former Energy secretary at the time of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, from 2005 to 2007.
Lotilla was also the President of the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation (PSALM), and also served as Deputy Director General of the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA).
The new DOE chief is a law professor in the University of the Philippines where he graduated with his Bachelor of Laws. He obtained his Masters of Laws from the University of Michigan Law School in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA.
