A deranged gun-wielding man was killed by responding policemen moments after he ran amuck in Valenzuela City.
The suspect was later identified as Charlie S. Cardona, the man who was first reported by a barangay officer to police while striding along F. Bautista Street Dulo in Barangay Marulas with a gun.
In a belated report, at around 2:19 a.m. on Sunday, November 8, police officers patrolling near the area received a radio call informing them to respond at a situation regarding a person without face mask and half naked challenging every person to a gun duel.
Valenzuela police immediately responded to the scene and immediately pacifying the suspect considering his life, and other people in the area are at risks.
Cardona was ordered to drop his weapon and to raise his both hands but instead he pointed his gun towards the policemen which one of the officers fired his service firearm to suspect hitting him on its neck.
Rescue team from the Valenzuela City Risk Reduction and Management Office arrived shortly at the area where Cardona was immediately given medical attention. He was then rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival by physicians.
