THE Olongapo City-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has raided a house and arrested a man who allegedly sells assorted homemade firearms without proper documents in Barangay Aningway, Subic, Zambales.
The suspect was identified as Garry Boy Paraiso, 27, a resident of the said area.
CIDG provincial officer Major John Michael Villanueva said that his office earlier receives information from a concerned citizen that Paraiso was illegally selling various types of homemade guns inside his house in Barangay Aningway.
The CIDG immediately formed a raiding team and launched an entrapment operation in which the suspect was successfully arrested while his cohorts had escaped.
Authorities have confiscated in Paraiso’s possession were .22 farco long caliber rifle, a .22 short firearm, a shotgun, other ammunition and pipes allegedly used in illegally manufactured homemade guns.
Paraiso is now facing violations under RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition while incarcerated at the CIDG headquarters custodial facility in Barangay Barreto.
