Makati LGU donates ‘hi-tech’ weaponry, armaments to local police force

THE Makati City government has donated P93-million worth of firearms, protective and crime-fighting equipment at the Makati Police Station to upgrade its security, criminality campaign and maintain peace and order in the city.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Director Police Maj. General Debold Sinas witnessed the turn over ceremony of firearms to the Makati Police headquarters today, Tuesday, October 27, 2020.

The firearms were donated by Makati City Mayor Abby Binay includes several assault rifles- reloading machines, 100 units of TAVOR Assault Rifle, 100 units of Galil Assault Rifle, 3 units of Galil Sniper Rifle, gas mask, Red Dot Reflex Sight , and Night Vision Scope.

Priority continues to be given to the modernization equipment of the local police force to improve their ability to fight crime especially during the pandemic.

According to Binay, discipline and compliance with the law must be maintained as businesses are gradually opened up and efforts are made to promote a healthy business environment for a faster economic recovery despite the pandemic.
