A magnitude 4.8 earthquake hit the town of Kiblawan in Davao del Sur early Monday morning.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that the quake occurred at 1:44 am in 8 kilometers of Kiblawan.
The depth is 21 kilometers and was tectonic in origin.
Intensity V was felt in Kiblawan, Davao del Sur; Malungon, Sarangani while Intensity IV in Davao City; Digos City, and Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur; Tupi, South Cotabato; Island Garden City of Samal, Davao del Norte.
Intensity III was also recorded in Koronadal City; Bansalan and Magsaysay, Davao del Sur; Columbio, Sultan Kudarat and Intensity II in Kidapawan City; General Santos City; Antipas and Makilala, Cotabato
Meanwhile, instrumental intensities are Intensity V in Malungon, Sarangani; Intensity IV in Koronadal City; Tupi, South Cotabato; Intensity III in General Santos City; Alabel, Sarangani; Kidapawan City; and Intensity II in Kiamba, Sarangani.
Phivolcs expected no damage and aftershocks.
