The Low Pressure Area inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility has developed into Tropical Depression “Marce” this afternoon.

However, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the tropical cyclone is not expected to affect any land area or coastal waters of the country.

The weather bureau also said “Marce” will move north-northwestward to northward tonight before turning north-northeastward tomorrow morning. It is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) tonight or tomorrow early morning.

Pagasa forecasts “Marce” to remain a tropical depression throughout its lifespan. It is forecast to transition into an extratropical low on Tuesday.

At 4:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Depression “MARCE” was estimated based on all available data at 1,275 km East Northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon, moving North Northwestward at 15 kilometer/hour.

The tropical depression’s maximum sustained winds is at 45 km/hour near the center and gustiness of up to 55 km/hour.
