THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) and Commission on Elections (Comelec), both located in Intramuros, Manila, issued an advisory on the limited work load schedule of their employees to give way to the inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. on June 30.

According to the BI, a skeleton workforce will report for work at their main office starting today up to June 30, while alternative work arrangements will be implemented for other employees so as not to disrupt the BI’s work.

Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said that the distance of the BI to the National Museum, which is the inauguration site of Marcos, is about less than three kilometers.

Traffic flow is also expected to be heavy within the perimeter of the National Museum because of the several closed roads.

Meanwhile, work-from-home setup will be implemented at the Comelec main office, including the offices of the Regional Election Director for National Capital Region, Region 4A and Region 4B, and the Office of the Election Officer in Manila starting tomorrow, June 28 up to June 29.

Work at Comelec will be suspended on June 30 in compliance with the Executive Order of the City of Manila declaring a special non-working holiday in the city on Thursday, June 30, 2022.

Also, the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals also announced suspension of work for its employees on June 29 and June 30..
