LGU execs told to explain slow distribution of aid to typhoon Odette victims — DILG

THE Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) sent show cause orders to local chief executives like mayors and governors that until today have not submitted their reports on the slow distribution of assistance to Typhoon Odette victims in Visayas and Mindanao.

DILG Secretary Eduardo Año emphasized that the national government already released the funds to local governments for distribution to disaster victims.

However, the DILG chief is wondering why there are still some LGUs that have not finished their distribution of assistance to their constituents affected by the typhoon.

Año pointed out that the total funds released to LGUs in Odette-affected areas has already reached P495.5 million.

Areas that have submitted their report to the DILG were Iloilo province, Bohol, Cebu, Southern Leyte, Surigao Del Norte, and Dinagat Islands.
