Comelec junks another petition to cancel Marcos COC

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) today junked another petition that sought to cancel the Certificate of Candidacy (COC) of presidential aspirant and former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.

Dismissed by the Comelec 2nd Division was the petition filed by Tiburcio “TVM” Villamor Marcos that said the real Bongbong Marcos already died in 1975.

The poll body earlier dismissed the petition to cancel the COC of Marcos that was filed by the group of Fr. Christian Buenafe.

A motion to reverse the decision of the commissioners were also filed by the group of Fr. Buenafe and is still awaiting decision.

Another petition filed by Danilo Lihaylihay to declare Marcos a nuisance candidate was also dismissed. A motion for reconsideration was filed and is awaiting decision.

Aside from the 2nd Division ng Comelec, there are two other petitions for the disqualification of Marcos that were filed with the Comelec’s 1st Division.
