Laguna Police and LLDA management signed agreements for the protection of the Laguna Lake

CAMP Brig. General Paciano Rizal – THE Laguna Police Provincial Office (LPPO) led a coordinating meeting for Peace Program and Environmental Protection with the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) headed by General Manager Jaime Medina and Mayor Jose Padrid of Bay, Laguna.

Police Col. Serafin Petalio II, personally welcome the arrival of the delegates at the Provincial Police Headquarters where the meeting and the signing of the agreement took place.

An audio-visual presentation on the operational accomplishments of Laguna PPO for the period of February 2020 to February 2021 was presented highlighting the campaign against illegal drugs, anti-illegal gambling, anti-criminality, against most wanted persons, terrorism and insurgency, and environmental protection and preservation through Project SPLaKaM.

Medina had discussed in detail the numerous benefits derived from Laguna De Bay, the planned rehabilitation and development programs of the agency for the lake, and the vast responsibilities under the Clean Water Act with the participation of the police in the protection of the lake.

Among the positive output of the meeting were the agreement that the LLDA shall scout for an ideal parcel of lot or land for the installation of PNP Stations that shall oversee and assist the LLDA in the implementation of its mandates, joint projects for environmental forestation, protection and preservation of the lake, with the LLDA to provide for the seedlings and other technical assistance, the shared responsibility in the maintenance of peace and economic development considering that CALABARZON Region is known as the “Economic Corridor,” and the partnership of LLDA, PNP and TESDA in the skills and capacity training on aquamarine courses to the PNP and the community.

As a token of appreciation, Medina and party was awarded a sculpture of Saint Michael Archangel, the patron saint of law enforcers and individual certificates of appreciation by Petalio assisted by Police Lt. Col Danilo Mendoza, the Deputy Provincial Director for Administration.
