Kyrgystani woman ordered deported for overstaying, links to West African drug ring

THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) said a Kyrgystani woman was ordered deported for overstaying and for her alleged involvement in illegal drugs.

The BI’s fugitive search unit (FSU), in a report to BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco, identified the alien as Anara Ruslanova, 29 years old, who was arrested in a residential village in Makati City last week after the bureau received a tip from informants. Ruslanova was also slapped with a deportation case by the BI for being an undesirable and overstaying alien.

Ruslanova was later placed at the BI custodial facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City where she will remain while awaiting her deportation.

Operatives also believed that Ruslanova had links to members of a West African syndicate who were arrested by the BI and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in a bar in Makati on less than two months ago.

Ruslanova was reportedly investigated by the NBI regarding her knowledge of the activities of the West African syndicate, particularly its illegal drug-trading activities in the country.

On November 21, 2023, the BI board of commissioners ordered Ruslanova’s deportation and her inclusion in the immigration blacklist, effectively banning her from re-entering the country.

Records showed that Ruslanova last arrived in the country on October 4, 2018 and has not departed since then and did not apply for any type of visa to extend her stay in the country legally.

Tansingco, meanwhile, hailed the arrest of Ruslanova, whom he described as an undesirable alien.
