THE number of unemployed Filipinos in the country was recorded at 3.8 million this October of the present year according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
This is equivalent to 8.7 percent which is higher compared to only 4.6 percent in October of 2019.
Based on the PSA record, the unemployment rate dropped slightly compared to July 2020 (4.6 million) and April 2020 (7.2 million).
The underemployment rate in the country reached at 14.4 percent for October, 2020.
PSA said that there are currently 43.6 million Filipinos or 58.7 percent are in the labor force.
It dropped slightly compared to 45.9 million in July 2020.
