THE Inter-Agency Task Force for the management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) gave its approval for the holding of limited face-to-face classes in universities located in areas under Alert Levels 1 to 3.
Acting Presidential Spokesperson Cabinet Secretary Karlo Alexei Nograles said a resolution was approved by the IATF for limited face-to-face classes under all programs of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), which will be held in phases.
Nograles said that based on the resolution, the first phase of limited face-to-face classes will be effective starting December 2021 onwards.
During this time, all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) located in areas under Alert Level 2 may now apply for the holding of limited face-to-face classes.
Phase 2 will start on January 2022 onwards, where HEIs in areas covered by Alert Level 3 can start to apply for limited face-to-face classes as well.
Part of the HEIs’ application is their compliance to government guidelines such as maximum 50-percent capacity in a classroom, permit from the LGU where the school is located, while the teachers and students must be fully vaccinated, including non-teaching personnel.
