THE bill that proposes to update the current pension system for the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) was approved at the House of Representatives.
House Bill 4306, also known as the Revised Philippine Coast Guard law, was passed by the House Committee on Transportation, according to Bataan 2nd District Representative Abet Garcia.
Congressman Garcia said the bill aims to clarify the organizational structure and update the current pension system of the PCG.
Representative Garcia believes that these two objectives are key to strengthening and improving the efficiency of their operations while providing better benefits to PCG personnel, similar to those received by other uniformed personnel in the country.
The bill will now be formally endorsed to the Committee on Appropriations.
