BULACAN – An alleged member of a gun-for-hire group was killed in an armed encounter in Sitio Magdangal, Brgy. Kamias, San Miguel town on Monday.
Police Major Leandro Gutierrez, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) identified the suspect as Romar D. Lising, between 40-45 years old, a resident of said place.

During the buy-bust transaction, Lising readily ran inside his house and fired towards the operatives upon noticed that he was dealing with a police officer prompting one of the law enforcer to fire back which resulted in the suspect’s death.
“It was learned that the suspect is an alleged member of a gun-for-hire group, involved in extortion activities and allegedly involved in the robbery incident in Brgy. Mataas na Parang, San Ildefonso, Bulacan last Dec 13, 2020,” Gutierrez said.
Confiscated in the crime scene were two caliber .38 revolver with live ammunition; and P3,500 buy-bust money.
Gutierrez said “Oplan Panlalansag Omega” (illegal firearms/loose firearms) was conducted by elements of the Bulacan Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) as the lead unit, San Miguel, San Ildefonso operatives and Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), against the suspect in the said barangay.
