Fully vaccinated seniors can go out of their homes — Palace

THE government said fully vaccinated senior citizens will now be allowed to go outside of their homes and visit malls within the National Capital Region (NCR)

Malacañang said this on Tuesday as Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque responded to concerns that malls still refuse entry to senior citizens aged 60 and above despite them being fully vaccinated already.

Metro Manila is already under Alert Level 3 starting October 16.

Hindi natin binabawi ang incentives na ibinigay natin sa seniors na kapag sila ay vaccinated ay puwede silang pumunta [sa] mga malls at puwede silang lumabas ng bahay. Ganoon pa rin iyon,” Roque said.

Roque, however, clarified that minors are still not allowed to leave their homes since vaccination of the 12-17 age bracket started only last October 15, he added.

A total of 24 million Filipinos are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of October 18, Roque pointed out.

Restrictions for areas under Alert Level 3 are eased in establishments such as restaurants, coffee shops, fitness centers, even movie houses, where they are allowed to operate at 30 percent capacity.
