SUBIC BAY FREEPORT — A drug buy-bust operation resulted in the arrest of suspect Jerico Dabu and four policemen who serve him as protector and escort, and the dismantling of a clandestine illegal drug laboratory.
The suspects identified were PLt. Reynato Basa Jr., PCpl. Gino dela Cruz, PCpl. Edesyr Victor Alipio, and PCpl. Godfrey Duclayan Parentela, all assigned at Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) Police Station 2, Olongapo City Police Office (OCPO).
Around 12:30 a.m. on January 15, at 366-B Finback West Kalayaan, SBMA, Olongapo City, a composite team of operatives from the CIDG-NMMFU, CIDG Zambales, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 3, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), PNP Maritime Group, PNP Drug Enforcement Group (DEG) SOU 2, Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) 3 IG and Law Enforcement Department – Intelligence and Investigation Office (LED/IIO) SBMA conducted a buy-bust operation that resulted in the arrest of the police and civilian suspect Dabu.
Dabu was identified as member of a group of foreign and local nationals engaged in maintaining an illegal drug laboratory that produces shabu daily and distributed to Region 3 and Metro Manila.
Seized from the suspects were various illegal drug manufacturing paraphernalia, cellphones, Glock 17 9mm pistols, a Honda Civic with plate no. UKM 7798 and various amounts of marked money.
The suspects are reportedly part of a large organized crime group with unlimited financial resources and protectors. The raw materials they use are reportedly imported and inserted in legal shipments to mislead authorities.
