PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte appointed former Senior Deputy Executive Secretary Michael Pastores Ong as a new magistrate of the Court of Appeals.
Ong will take over the position vacated by former Court of Appeas and now Supreme Court Justice Samuel Gaerlan.
The appointment papers of CA Associate Justice Ong was released by the Supreme Court and signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.
The appointment paper came from Malacanang since last May 20 2021 but it was only yesterday that it was received by the office of Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo.
Relatedly, CA Associate Justice Ong already took his oath in front of Chief Justice Gesmundo to officially begin his tenure as a new member of the Court of Appeals.
