This is why the OCTA Research Group urged the public to still continue following minimum public health standards, especially during the holidays where more people will go out of their homes either for leisure, to visit relatives and loved ones for small gatherings. and other activities.

The positivity rate in the NCR rose to 0.77 from December 16-22, 2021, according to the report of OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David.

He added that the positivity rate in the NCR was only at 0.62, the region’s lowest, from December 12 to 18, 2021.

Dr. David noted this may be seen as an effect of the holidays, but could also be interpreted as the start of a change in the trend.

He said the group will reevaluate the situation within two weeks.
