FLOOD victims in Gumaca, Quezon has received cash assistance from the Office of Senator Christopher “Bong” Go in Gumaca West Elementary School.
A total of 1,000 victims who came from different barangays of Panikihan, Hagakhakin, San Vicente, Camohaguin, Biga, Butaguin, Manlayaan, Villa Arcaya, Rosario, Villa Perez, Villa Bota, Mabini, Labnig, Bamban, Bagong Buhay, Buensuceso, Pipisik, Villa Nava, Peñafrancia, Progreso, Batong Dalig, and San Agustin.
They were also provided free meals, food packs, masks, and face shields during the said distribution by following strict health protocols.
“Ang importante po, wala pong nasaktan sa inyo, sana po ay walang nasawi o nasaktan. Ang importante po sa akin ang buhay ng bawat Pilipino,” said Go.
Go’s team also handed out bicycles to selected recipients to help them in their daily commute to work. They also provided tablets to some beneficiaries to help their children adapt to blended learning in schools.
“Mayroon din po akong ipinadalang tablets. ‘Yun po, magagamit ng mga bata sa pag-aaral. ‘Yan po ‘yung tablets. Sa mga kabataan naman natin, nakikiusap po ako sa inyo, please lang po na kung maaari ay mag-aral kayong mabuti,” he reminded the children.
In addition of the said assistance distribution, the Department of Social Welfare and Development DSWD gave also cash assistance and food packs.
Meanwhile, Go announced to the Barangay officials that the government will give Christmas incentives this coming holiday season.
“Sa mga barangay captains, meron kayong matatanggap sa Pasko mula kay Presidente Duterte, tulad ng nakaraang taon. Incentives po ito, alam kong kayo ang takbuhan ng taumbayan. Pakiusap lang po, huwag ninyong pabayaan ang kapwa nating Pilipino. Unahin ninyo ang serbisyo para sa kanila,” Go said.
