DEPARTMENT of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Undersecretary for MIgrant Workers Affairs Sarah Lou Arriola said Filipinos coming home to the country from Ukraine will undergo psycho-social counseling.
It is important to examine the state of mind of Filipinos coming from Ukraine amid the violence they experienced from the attacks made by Russian forces.
During the Laging Handa public briefing, Arriola said the Filipinos need psycho-social counselling because they may still be in a state of war shock due to the extreme fear brought about by the war.
For now, Arriola said there are 13 Filipinos, including one child, expected to travel back to the Philippines the moment their negative RT-PCR test results are released.
Aside from counselling, Arriola said the Filipinos will also be given a US$200-financial assistance so that they could start anew in terms of livelihood once they return to the country.
Arriola also assured that the Filipinos who lost their jobs in Ukraine because of the war will be provided further assistance with the help of other government agencies.
