THE Filipino lawyer victim in a fatal shooting while visiting in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA died this morning (US time).
The news was relayed by the parents of Atty. John Laylo, who confirmed that the Filipino lawyer died around 10:33 am, US time.
Laylo’s family is already making arrangements for the repatriation of Laylo’s remains back to the Philippines.
Meanwhile, there are no latest developments yet by the Philadelphia police in its investigation although for now, the police is already collective security camera footages in the crime scene where Laylo was shot while in an Uber with his mother.
As of now, authorities are still facing a blank wall as to the identity of the suspect in what is described as a random shooting.
Laylo and his mother were on their way to the airport to fly to Chicago when the shooting happened.
The mother of the victim is already out of danger from the wounds she incurred, mostly from glass shards.
Consul General Elmer Cato already sent assistance to Laylo’s family and personally went to Philadelphia to assist them to bring home the lawyer’s remains back to the Philippines.
