BINUKSAN na ang filling period para sa petition for accreditation ng mga partidong politikal, ayon sa Commission on Elections (Comelec).
Paliwanag ni Comelec Chairman George Garcia, ito ay upang bigyang panahon ang mga partido na sagutin ang mga katanungan pagdating sa isyu ng legalidad hinggil sa kanilang mga petisyon.
“We made the announcement this early for the filing of a petition for accreditation with the Comelec. Based on our experience, when petitions for accreditation are filed, sometimes it’s only a few days before the election, the ballot has already been printed, and there are pending petitions for accreditation. We want them to file earlier and then we will finish early the deadline for filing the petition for accreditation,” ayon kay Garcia sa isang panayam
Ipinunto ni Garcia na ang Office of the Clerk ng Comelec ay tumatanggap na ng verified petitions for registration bilang political party o coalition ng political parties.
Dagdag pa niya, ang deadline ng filing ay hindi pa napagdedesisyunan ng Commission en banc.
Para sa Comelec Chairman, kailangan ng mas maaga—kung puwede nang maghain ng petition for accreditation hanggang sa susunod na taon upang magkaroon ng buong taong preparasyon sa 2024 ang mga lalahok at mga hindi lalahok.
“Even if there are those who still go to the Supreme Court for example, because that happened before – some party-lists got a TRO (Temporary Restraining Order) but their names could no longer be placed on the ballots because the Comelec was starting to print at that time,” dagdag pa ni Garcia.
Una nang hinikayat ng poll body ang mga organisasyon at grupo na nais magparehistro bilang political party, coalition ng political parties o ang national, regional o sectoral group o organisasyon na lalahok sa party-list system ng representasyon upang ihain ang kanilang na-verify na mga petisyon para sa pagpaparehistro sa Komisyon.
Ang Clerk of the Commission ay tatanggap ng mga petisyon na sumusunod sa Comelec Resolution No. 10673 (In Re: Guidelines on Electronic Filing, Conduct of Hearings/Investigations/Inquiries via Video Conference, and Service) mula 8 ng umaga hanggang 5 ng hapon mula Lunes hanggang Biyernes, at hindi kasama ang mga pista opisyal.
